When I Die, Part 3:

By Willie Gaffer

January 14, 2008:

Here are the Quicken files descriptions.

These files are reasonably named and quite self-evident when you look at them. We keep track of our transactions and update the files every Sunday Morning before I do the backup.

Nancy’s CD 1 and CD 2 are empty files. These assets were transferred to her Annuity with a company a while back.

Nancy’s money market, primary share, and share draft are all with Big Town Credit Union.

Wesoomi Checking and Wesoomi Primary share are in a separate account with Small Town Credit Union.

William’s Primary share and share draft are also with the Small Town CU.

Nancy’s cash and Nancy’s hole as well as William’s cash are records of our out of pocket transactions.

The credit card accounts have already been described.

Nancy’s Annuity is a long term investment that pays quarterly interest back into the annuity. Once per year she gets a transfer to her checking account according to the federal minimum withdrawal rules.

I have stopped updating our Fidelity investments. They have gone so completely to hell that I closed out the Ultra Service Account. I will probably phase out William’s IRA also. If I had it to do again, I would go with a long-term annuity similar to Nancy’s Annuity and stay the hell out of the market. I am convinced it is being manipulated by the big players and dupes like me don’t stand a chance.

My personal account with Small Town CU is a joint account with Mrs. Gaffer.

That should have a third person, son or daughter, named as join owner.

The account for Wesoomi Publishing should also have another joint owner, preferably the one who will take control of Wesoomi Publishing.

Nancy’s account with Big Town CU is a joint account with me as co-owner.

A third person must be added, son or daughter.

I have two pensions and a social security income.

One pension was originally from X corp.

It is now part of Diddle Corp. This must be canceled upon my death.

The other pension is from Ford Motor Company.

It must also be canceled.

Ford will pay a reduced pension and a lump sum to Mrs. Gaffer.

Ford has a National Employee Service Center (NESC) The current phone number is

1-800-248-4444.

They also have a website http://www/employeesford.com/

I have an account there. The user name is metoo, the password is mealso

The last 4 digits of my SS number are XXXX. My service date is 04-1979. That’s when I was hired. The retirement date is October 1, 1992. I turned 62 in September and became eligible for early retirement.

My life insurance with Ford is minimal. It should be paid to Mrs. Gaffer upon my death. Make sure it is by calling the above NESC phone number.

There is a Salaried Retiree Handbook from Ford, which explains my benefits. Ford changes these things whenever it pleases them so they no longer date them. You must look for clues like the effective date of some things. I get rid of old ones so as not to confuse the issue.

The current book is on a shelf in the North East corner of my office.

Mrs. Gaffer has a pension from Genesys Health Systems and a social security income.

The Genesys pension must be canceled upon Mrs. Gaffer’s death.

Our pensions and our Social Security benefits are paid by direct deposit to our respective credit union accounts.

The social security office must be notified upon our demise.

We also have investments.

If I still have the IRA with Fidelity it must go to my heirs upon my death.

Mrs. Gaffer also has an annuity with a company.

This must also go to our heirs.

We have separate Blue Care Advantage plans. This is medical and some dental combined. These are 1-year contracts and they will expire automatically if they are not renewed.

You can either continue Wesoomi Publishing or shut it down.

In either case, you must deal with the website.

It is currently with Aplus.net.

I will discuss the website in detail at the end of this monologue, after I discuss the final celebration.

The name Wesoomi Publishing was a registered trademark. The certificate is in my file.

It has expired and should be renewed if you wish to continue.

There is a phone line and a separate bill for Wesoomi Publishing. It will become unnecessary and can be canceled if you shut down the firm.

There is an assumed name certificate from the County Clerk in my file. It will expire in 2011 if you do nothing. If you close down the business, the County Clerk must be notified.

There are registered copyrights for all of the books I wrote. Copies are in the file. They will expire 17 years after my death. There are several thousand books in the garage. What you do with them will depend on what you do about Wesoomi Publishing.

To learn about Wesoomi Publishing and what I have been doing, you will need to read my essays on writing and publishing in the archive of the website. There is also a copy of these essays in the website directory on my hard drive. I will try to write a better description of things as I have time. Understanding these things is necessary if you want to continue Wesoomi Publishing.
