Hate Crime V072:

Hate crime is the latest politically correct media fad. If I get it right, a hate crime is a crime that is ethnically based. If I threaten to beat the crap out of an annoying relative, that is just a threat and perhaps a crime. If I threaten to beat the crap out of an annoying Arab that is a hate crime. Hate crimes, you see, are more serious than ordinary crimes because they are ethnically based. Huh?
Anyhow, by that definition, Mrs. Gaffer and I have become
victims of a hate crime. On
My real name is William Steinman. I’m sure, to a low intellect skinhead, Steinman probably translates to Jew. It is relatively easy to make that mistake. Many German and Jewish names are quite similar in structure and sound. Ironically enough, Steinman is a German name. It means literally stone man or stonemason. So what? It does not matter. If we go back far enough, we find we are all from the same stock.
We all came from the Southern Ape of Africa. Those differences that appear to us as racial or ethnic are probably a result of environmental adaptations. Dark skin is one very good example of that. The problem is the skinheads and many of the fundamentalists among us are quite ignorant about history. They are ignorant of almost everything except their hatred and alleged religion.
So, anyhow, I went out, took some photos of the swastika,
and stored them on my computer. I have them for posterity, as they say, and for
evidence. I was sure the police would be understaffed on Sunday, so I waited a
day. On
To my utter surprised, a trooper showed up about an hour after I called and officially took the report. Her name was Jali Raab and she was very polite. She made notes of everything I told her. For completeness, I also told her about the complaint I had field with the DNR against the poacher. I doubt there is a connection, but the possibility exists. She said she would get with Ken, the DNR guy and see what he had done. She also suggested that I call her if I see the poacher out there. That is not going to happen because I am not about to go out in the woods when I know there is a criminal with a gun out there.
I suspect that will be the end of it unless I can interest the media. My guess is, the State police will file the report and forget it. In reality, they cannot do much else. I am pretty much convinced it was a local punk, skinhead, school kid who sprayed the swastika. So what? They cannot go and question every punk in our local high school. The kids would call it police harassment. If they knew which punks to question, they could probably find out who did this, but how would they know that?
I would bet there are at least ten kids in that school who know about this particular crime. They know what is coming down and who is doing it. The problem for us is they will not do their civic duty, as members of the community ought to. They will not report the criminal activity even when they know it. The problem for them is not so apparent. It will only become apparent when they become victims of crime. Eventually that will happen and ethically they will not have a place to stand.
Of course, the kids will argue a nonsensical backwards ethics on this. They will claim reporting crime is snitching, betraying the other kids. I can only say, when doing your civic duty and reporting crime gets equated with betrayal, our youth community is in deep shit. Let’s try to understand. When you report a criminal, there is no betrayal unless you are a criminal too. If you are a member of the community, it is a betrayal of that community to not report criminal behavior.
I don’t know if we teach civics in elementary school anymore. I don’t think we do because the kids don’t act like they have been taught civic responsibility. If we taught civics in our schools, we might get some of these kids to understand their community is in danger because of these criminals. When criminals rule the community, everyone is in danger. If they understood that, they might standup and act.
As to my particular problem, Mrs. Gaffer went out and sprayed over the swastika with grey paint. Perhaps that will be the end of it. Perhaps not! If It happens again, the police might pay better attention because there is already a report on file. If a pattern does develop, they might be able to interest some of the community leaders to encourage the kids to open up. Meanwhile, I will keep my semiautomatic rifle handy. I will not be taken by surprise and I will act in self-defense.
I think it would be nice if the school administration took civic responsibility as seriously as they take teaching kids to pass the SAT. When I went to school, there were things called assemblies. All the kids got together at once in a huge auditorium. Quite often these gang bangs were about community and civic responsibility. In fact, occasionally a police office would speak to the kids about law and civic responsibility. I think that had more effect on me than most of the idiocy that went on in my school. It was effective.
About skinheads, I think there should be open season on
them. They should all be rounded up, painted green, and turned loose in the
woods like the DNR turns turkeys loose. Then anyone should be able to get a
license to shoot them, anytime of the year. No bag limit! That makes me wonder
if killing people is compatible with my philosophy? Perhaps it would be if I
could make myself believe in reincarnation. Then I could wish they would
reincarnate as white Christians in
