Lima Bean Soup with Ham:

Here is a simple recipe to fill and warm your gut on a chill
winter day. |

What you need. |

2 Qts water. 2 cups dry lima beans. 2 cups chopped onion. 2 tsp.
salt. 1/2 tsp ground black pepper. |
Place water, beans, onion, salt, and pepper in a suitable pot.
Simmer on low heat for 1 hour. |

1 cup chopped celery. 1/2 cup sliced carrot. 1 cup or more of
cooked diced ham. 1 tbsp. brown sugar. |
Add celery, carrot, ham, and brown sugar. Continue to simmer
until beans are tender (about 1 hour). |

Serve with crusty bread and butter. |
