Pizza Pita:

A quick way to make a pizza treat. |

What you need. |

Sauce:
1 fifteen oz. can. tomato sauce. 1/2 cup minced onion. 1 tsp
minced garlic. 1 tsp. basil. 1/2 tsp. oregano. 1/8 tsp. Louisiana
hot sauce. 1/2 cup Chanti. |
Sauce:
Place all ingredients in a small sauce pan. Stir and cook on
medium heat until blended and spooning thick. Reserve and keep
hot. |

Preheat oven to 350 deg. |

Cut 3 pita loaves in half to make 6 pita pockets. 2 cups shredded
mozzarella cheese. 1 cup thin sliced pepperoni. 1 cup chopped
onion. 1cup chopped green pepper. 1 cup chopped medium hot Hungarian
wax peppers. 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms. |
Layer ingredients in the pockets. Use a baking dish with a rack
to keep pockets upright. Cover pockets with foil and bake for
10 to 15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly. |

Serve pockets with sauce and a bottle of good Chianti. |
