February 27, 2006:
At the Top:
Many people have sense enough to quit when they are at the top
of their game. These are the people like Bettis, Laimbeer, Namath,
and Montana. If I have any regrets at all it is that I did not
stop doing something and gone on to something new after I had
mastered it. I should have done that much more than I did. I
should have had a lot more experiences and learned much more
than I did. There is so much to learn and so little time.
Mutilation:
Human beings have always practiced self mutilation, but our children
of this age are taking it to primitive cultural extremes. Whether
it's destroying their hearing with destructive sound waves called
music or piercing themselves in various places and carving up
their skin, they have become like the savages of primitive cultures.
It should be very clear that these kids have not been properly
nurtured.
Spam Slammer:
I am working on a new invention called a Spam Slammer. It's a
gun like a large bore shotgun that uses those little tins of
Hormel Spam for ammunition. I will set up an extra legal investigative
committee much like a detective bureau. These people will seek
out and get evidence against those slime-balls who are destroying
the value of email for human beings. When a spammer is identified
an agent will be sent out with a Spam Slammer. He will fire one
shot slamming a can of Spam into the chest of the spammer. Then
he will place an anonymous call to the cops. After the cops have
discovered 10 or 20 of these dead Spam Slammed bums around the
world they will get the message, I bet email spam will stop altogether.
Public Opinion:
When most of the public is dishonest, public opinion loses its
power to influence behavior. The phrase, "I'll tell the
world about you," used to have some power to influence a
person. Now the world does not care and exposure has no effect.
Witness our corporate executives. Take Lay for example. He is
guilty of either misfeasance or malfeasance. I believe he is
guilty of both, but his own testimony makes him guilty of misfeasance
at least. Considering that, we must conclude he took money under
false pretenses. He got paid to look after a corporation and
he contends he did not know what was going on. He did not do
what he got paid to do. Yet, he struts around pretending he is
innocent. I wonder if anyone besides his victims cares about
that.
Inflation:
My wife and I are both retired. All of our income is from pensions,
Social security, and small investments. Even at that, our income
for two years is more than my father earned in his entire life.
For sure, we are better of than my parents were, but not that
much better. Inflation is an insidious monster that eats away
at us day by day. No one gains from that.
Mike Chretoff:
He is taking the rap for a lot of other people who screwed up.
I like him. He is articulate and honest, but he has a lot to
learn about politics. Now he is looking for some good people
to fill spots in his agency. I am wondering why he has not noticed
the Coast Guard Admiral who directed the very effective rescue
operations. That guy should be put in charge of all operations.
The fact that he is a military man should not go unnoticed either.
He got stuff done partly because people were compelled to obey
him. I think all of FEMA should be organized like that.
United Arab Emirats:
It seems they will be operating some of America's ports now.
The administration claims the have vetted this outfit and they
are okay. Vetted is a fancy word that means investigated. Mr's
Gaffer is always to the point. She said, "Sure, they vetted
them the same as they vetted weapons of mass destruction in Iraq."
For Gord's sake, when are we going to turn the Pentagon over
to them? Our leaders just don't get it. I cant say this often
enough. We do not have any friends in the Arab world. Most Arabs
and especially their leaders are our enemies. Many of them have
said so. They want to destroy us and Israel. Our leaders are
selling us out. They are stupid, idiotic, moronic!
Quail Hunting:
From what I hear on the tube, from various hunters, I deduce
that quail hunting is the sport of choice for insane people.
That probably explains why so many Washington types do it. Hunters
getting shot is a common event for these folks, yet they persist
in doing it.
Commercial Television:
They alienate their viewers by the thousands every day and they
wonder why their audience is slipping away. They switch show
times at random so a viewer cannot be sure their show will be
on at 8:00 PM. They slip in reruns on prime time shows without
warning. They continue to dump those so called reality shows
on the viewers who will tolerate them. Then they give us that
Dancing with the Stars scandal where the worst dancer ends up
in the finals and possibly the best dancer is eliminated. What
in the world do they expect?
I'd Sunni:
I'd Sunni have the Shi'ites killing Sunnis than to have them
killing our kids. We should not even be there, but now it's time
to admit that and get out. Iraq will end up being a repeat of
Vietam. We have never learned from history. We probably never
will. We will have to end up getting the last of our kids out
or Iraq behind a line of bayonets. These people all claim to
believe in Allah. They have the same bible, but they are like
the Hatfield's and McCoy's. They are going to have a civil war.
They are going to kill each other. If Arabs want to kill each
other, I don't think we should get in their way. There is no
reason why we should be caught up in the middle of it. We should
pull out immediately and let them have at it. We should watch
from a safe distance.
If we had never gone in that civil war would have happened
anyway, but we would be outside of it as the good guys. Instead
we are inside and America will be seen as the bad guys who killed
a bunch of Muslims and caused a civil war. We made the mistake
of thinking these Muslim savages are dumb. The mentality that
causes primitive savage behavior has nothing to do with intelligence.
The behavior is cause by a spiritual void, not by an intellectual
void. It's the same void we find in the White House and in our
major corporations.
Bungled:
We bungled Afghanistan. We bungled Iraq. We bungled Katrina.
Still we blunder on. Nothing has been changed. Nothing has been
fixed. The next disaster, whether it's caused by our government
or someone or something else, will still catch us unprepared.
We have nothing new in place. We have changed the names of the
fall guys and that's all. All we have is more rhetoric.
