March 13, 2006:
Cashing In:
People will say, "Only in Detroit," but it ain't true.
It could happen anywhere. Detroit does not have a monopoly on
opportunistic profiteers. In this case it is in Detroit. The
place called Woodlawn Cemetery had the honor of interring Rosa
Parks. That was not enough for them. They promptly raised prices
of nearby crypts to, in some case, double their previous price.
Hey, may as well make a buck on this celebrity carcass. What
a gross insult to this noble humble hero of the civil rights
movement, who never made a penny on any of that pain and suffering.
I'll say it again, opportunistic profiteers!
Tillman:
They are at it again, investigating his death. That the military
brass screwed up on this, I will agree. The military brass always
screws up. Screwing up is part of their job description. However,
does anyone really believe for one minute that this would have
gone on as long as it has if the victim had been me or my son?
You all know the answer to that. It would have gone down as killed
in action and that would end it. Tillman's case is getting special
treatment because, and only because, he was a celebrity.
I know what happens because I was there, in Korea. A lot of
people get killed in war. Some get killed by accident in war.
That is the nature of war. Everyone involved is armed and accidents
happen often and easily. That is one reason why we should never
go to war unless we have a clear and solid case for killing other
people in their homeland. In Afghanistan we had that case. They
were harboring our declared enemy. In Iraq we did not have a
case.
The Veterans:
According to the nightly news, these damaged kids who are returning
from their work in George's war are not being taken care of by
the Veteran hospitals. It seems they don't have enough money
for that. Let's be honest here. If congress were not spending
billions to build highways and bridges to nowhere and to build
an airport to serve just one senator, we would have enough money.
Then the kids would be taken care of the way they deserve to
be. The truth is, our entire legislature is unconscionable right
down the line. I despise them.
Beyond Evil:
We saw it in the local news. A Flushing, Michigan man was killed
in Iraq. His family and friends were celebrating his life and
mourning his loss. Then a mob of the most monstrous people I
ever saw descended on this solemn occasion. This mob of scum
was allegedly protesting gays in the military. Their alleged
theory was, the deaths of our kids was God's punishment for that
sin. Outside the church service they carried signs that proclaimed,
"Thank God he is dead!" and other signs equally monstrous
in their message.
Does anyone wonder why I answer, "The short answer is
no," when asked if I believe in God? In good conscience,
I must most completely and absolutely reject a God that would
allow his alleged representatives on earth to act with such calloused
disregard for human feelings. I almost wish there was a God to
deal with filth like this. There is not, so I must ask, where
were the cops? This was not free speech. It was behavior beyond
evil! If not the cops, where are the garbage collectors?
Alabama:
I think they actually have some real police there. They caught
the guys who burned down the nine churches by actually investigating
the situation. They traced the tire tracks they found at the
scene. It turned out to be three college student punks. They
claim they did it as a joke. Really? I think they should get
life in prison, not because it was churches, but because it was
an act of arson beyond redemption. It would not matter to me
if they torched saloons. I would feel the same. If they were
going to burn down a church, why didn't they do the one that
spawned the slime who came to Michigan to advocate hate.
Iran:
What a horrible quagmire we created when we invaded Iraq. Now
Iran is getting into it and we do not have the wherewithal to
respond. Right now, Iran is shipping very sophisticated roadside
bombs into Iraq and we can't stop them. We are spread to thin
because we never geared up for WW III which is now under way.
WW III will become an all out war between Muslim extremists and
Christian extremists which will eventually involve the entire
civilized world. It will continue to be a war of terrorism and
terrorists. We are woefully unprepared for that. I fear Bush,
much like Theodosius, is presiding over the ignoble end of a
civilization. That will be the Bush legacy.
Now Iran is threatening to limit oil production if we continue
to pick on them. We put ourselves in a position to be blackmailed
by not acting to solve the energy problem when it first became
apparent. That was way back in the Carter administration. Now.
We are dependent upon the good will of mad religious extremist.
Ain't that swell? It may be too late, but we really should start
preparing for WW III.
Yellow Journalism:
A couple of two-bit so-called journalist from the San Francisco
Chronicle wrote another book about B. Bonds and drugs. We did
not have enough of that already? I consider it a shabby way to
make money. There can be no other motive. They are no better
than he is.
Swartz Creek:
I'm sorry, but that is how they spell it. Anyway, this
town in Michigan found a way to save money. The got all of their
police patrol cars painted free by allowing the shop that did
it to put an advertisement on the back of each car. Now other
nearby cities are thinking about mounting the bandwagon. Where
will it end? Will uniforms be next? Can you picture the day when
we will not be able to tell a cop from an arena football player?
Is he a patrolman or a wide receiver? Who knows? Would it matter?
Ex General Clark:
He dances, he dodges, he is almost invisible as he deals with
the questions on the Stephanopolous show. So far as I could tell,
he never gave a direct answer to any question offered to him,
from Iraq to Iran. It is obvious he is preparing for another
run in 2008. I hope he does. I want to see him really humiliated.
A puzzle:
What is a boer? Is it a pig or a person? What kind of pig or
person is it?
