April 10, 2006:
Carroll:
I was wrong about her. I thought she might be some kind of nutcase
for saying good things about the butchers who kidnaped her and
killed her translator. The media showed her in her reunion with
the Christian Science Monitor people. She is not a nutcase. It
seems she is just incredibly naive, an airhead. I don't fault
her. I fault the editors of the paper who set her up. There is
no way she should have been sent to Iraq.
Research:
I continuously get queries from people asking for help or information.
Too often, the people have made no effort on their own. It's
as though they don't know how. How could anyone get through highschool
without knowing how to open a dictionary, or encyclopedia to
look something up? How could anyone get through highschool and
not know about libraries? This boggles my mind. Most of the people
who ask for help have not done anything to earn it. They have
not done their homework. They have not done any research. It
is incumbent upon you to do your homework before you ask for
help, before you waste someone else's time.
Immigrants:
America is being overrun with wet-backs if you listen to some
people. It seems there are about 11 million Spanish speaking
people in our country illegally. The proposed solutions for this
problem of illegal immigration range from the bizarre to the
insane. One solution it to build a Berlin style wall. That one
in Berlin was to keep people in. In or out, it does not matter.
The Berlin wall did not work and the proposed Mexico wall will
not work either.
I see an obvious and more rational solution. Why don't we
just annex Mexico. Vincente Fox might object until he realized
he might become a governor or a US Senator rather than the leader
of a wobbly republic. There might be some dislocation for a while,
but things wold shake out quickly as our businessmen and our
union men rushed in to exploit the Mexican workers in their home
provinces. Just think, the Mexicans would not have to travel
to be exploited, they could do it at home. And soon, Mexico would
have an economy better than most of our southern states. It's
win, win for everyone. Economic parity would solve many of the
so called problems in our world.
Iran:
If we were not bogged down in Iraq, we might have a chance to
do something about Iran. It is clear that diplomacy has failed.
As it is the only response we can have is a Dresden type of treatment.
We don't have troops to send in so bombing is the only choice.
Oh well! Maybe we should just off everyone who wears a checkered
tablecloth on their head.
Colorado:
The politicians are having a debate of sorts about what they
should do about the interstate highway I-70. It's gridlocked,
so they say. Some say they should widen I-70. Others insist they
should have a monorail mass transit system. I say bull to both
of these. Let's understand that I-70 is gridlocked with people
who are in general running wild over God's country. Without meaning
to, but without much though about it, these rabble are systematically
destroying one of the few remaining national treasures. That's
Grand Canyon folks. It's also the magnificent mountains that
surround it.
I say, do nothing. Leave the gridlock. Don't make it easy
for the rabble to swarm. Of course, the politicians are not thinking
about preserving the national treasures. Their goal is revenue
and for that they would exploit heaven itself if they could.
What is worse, the rabble or the political hacks who encourage
them for revenue and power?
Wired:
We have cell-phones, blackberry, notebooks, and all the other
gadgets. Many Americans are working 60 or 70 hour weeks so they
tell us. So what? With all of that, Americans are less productive
than the French who, we are told, work a 30 hour week. Why is
that? I believe it's because the people with all these gadgets
are overloaded with frivolous input and totally disorganized
as a result. They are concentrating their energy on the wrong
things. Where is the gain? Where is the quality of life? What
are we running from? What will happen to the kids of these highly
motivated and misdirected workaholics? Will they become sociopaths?
Probably!
Child Porn:
Our Justice Department claims dealing with child pron is a high
priority. Is that higher than detaining citizens without charging
then? Is it higher than spying on citizens? How high is high?
Why is the volume of child porn increasing rather than decreasing?
I do not believe anything our government, and particularly the
Justice Department, says. Their highest priority is to keep their
bureaucracy in place. It always has been. Nothing has changed
there and nothing will change until we get honest people in government.
Don't hold your breath. At the same time, a federal employee
was accused of child porn and arrested. He was Bryan Doyle, an
official of Homeland Security. He is facing 23 federal felony
charges. Does that make you feel snug and safe?
Sovereign:
Women have discovered they have no rights on Indian Sovereign
Nation property. They can be molested and even raped and their
only choice is to go to court controlled by the people who molested
them, an Indian court. An American court judge has ruled that
he has no jurisdiction in this (wink, wink, nod, nod) Sovereign
Nation. What unmitigated crap!
I think we should let them be Sovereign Nations. We should
not allow them to have it both ways. We should withdraw all aid
and all military and police protection from them. We should let
them fend for themselves. We should erect border controls and
insist on passports and the whole legal rat race. If we did that,
most of them would degenerate to third world ghettos in a few
months. Then they could apply for legal provincial membership
in whatever state they happen to be located. Then they would
have to use the same courts and obey the same laws that all the
rest of us must obey.
Hey, hey, hey,
Tom Delay.
I wish there was a hell.
Hey, hey, hey,
Tom Delay.
You've earned it very well.
