May 29, 2006:
Leave People Alone:
If what you do affects other people, they have a right to be
interested in it. Otherwise, they have no rights concerning your
behavior. If we followed this philosophy faithfully, polarizations
would not happen and probably wars would not happen. Religious
madmen would not be allowed to beat up on fruits and fruits would
not be able to teach fruitology to other people's kids. Fruitfulness
is, after all, a pathology. People who have the pathology should
be able to enjoy it in private without recrimination because
it does not affect other people. They should not be allowed to
flaunt it or teach it.
The Ongoing Saga:
The FBI, in its infinite wisdom has decided to demolish a beautiful
horse barn on the farm they are tearing up. They say Hoffa's
body may be underneath the cement floor. Why? Because a known
felon told them so. Who will pay for that madness? Will they
restore the farm? Will the cost of doing so come out of my taxes?
These FBI people are stark raving mad. Even if they find a body,
what will it determine? Nothing! What fools these mortals be!
Portals:
I have removed the links to Google, and Yahoo from my web links
pages. These people, along with MSN have helped the fascist Chinese
government track down Chinese dissenters for who knows what kind
of prosecution and persecution. These are the very same people
who claim it is impossible to track down and stop spammers in
America. Say what? Unethical hypocrites! That's what!
Global Warming:
Most of the scientific community is in agreement about this.
It is happening and the cause is the burning of fossil fuels.
That is the scientific community. In the general population most
still go along with King George and his millionaire buddies.
They cling to the discredited theory that this warming is just
part of a normal cycle of weather. For sure they can always find
a maverick or pseudo scientist to support their denials. It's
easier that way I suppose. It's classic politics. If you deny
something exists, you don't have to get off your butt and do
something about it. By the time we all get our heads out of the
sand, it will be too late. The damage will be irreversible. Maybe
cockroaches will do abetter job when they inherit the earth.
Flit, Flit, Flit:
Younger folks probably don't know about flit guns. A flit gun
was not for killing flits or people. The flit gun was a tool
for killing mosquitoes and flies. It was invented long before
aerosol cans and was much more environmentally friendly. Albeit,
the flit gun did require more effort to use. It consisted of
a hand pump, much like an old bicycle tire pump, with a container
for bug spray at the delivery end. The hand operated pump simply
blew air past a syphon in the container. This atomized the syphoned
fluid into a fine mist which got blown wherever the flit gun
was pointed. The sound it made may have been the reason for the
name of this tool. It sounded like flit, flit, flit when it was
used. The fluid used was more environmentally friendly too. The
ones I remember were made from citronella. Citronella is a natural
vegetable oil with an unusual, but not offensive, odor.
I Can Stay:
The United States is still my home. I had thought, if Lay and
Skilling got off, I would consider moving to Canada or Mexico.
Thank Minerva, they did not get off. The jury found against Lay
on all counts and the judge added four more counts for a total
of ten. Skilling got 19. Since there is no hell where we can
send them to rot, this is probably the best we can hope for.
Even in prison, they will be way ahead of most of the poor people
who were forced into poverty by these criminals. They will at
least get 3 meals a day, a warm place to crap, and clean sheets.
The Senate and the House:
It will be a donnybrook on the immigration bill. The house is
dead set against the Senate version. The Senate version calls
for a path to citizenship. It's not an easy path. They must wait
a long time and they have to learn English and American history.
If they do that, they will be better educated than many of the
autoworkers I know, to say nothing of rednecks and ghetto bums.
Religious People:
I have found that people who call themselves Christians are in
general frightful bores. Many of them behave like Calvinists
and condemn everything that is fun and interesting. Others behave
like evangelists which is possibly even worse. Either way, the
cannot seem to be able to leave the rest of us alone.
Terrorism:
In looking at the threat of terrorism we cannot ignore the religious
madness which underlies it and lends the cloak of legitimacy
to it. There is and has been a religious war in the world ever
since the time of Abraham. It has been an ongoing war between
Muslim extremists on one side and the Jewish Christian extremists
on the other side. It is a form of religious insanity that is
promoted by both groups. We must treat honestly with the fact
that there is enough evil to go around. None of these extremists
are innocent.
One of the problems mankind will continue to face is how to
mitigate the effect of these few madmen on the world. I personally
believe that can only be finally resolved through the nurturing
of children. When we begin to nurture the creative genius in
our kids instead of instilling religious bigotry and conformity,
we will begin the road to resolving that particular evil. Until
then, we must act to control the madness on both sides. We must
stop pretending the evil is all on one side. We must get honest
about our own religious fundamentalist madmen. To do that, we
cannot have a leader who believes he is the agent of God on earth.
The dark ages never really ended. The specter has always been
lurking in the shadowy corners on the human psyche. It is about
to enjoy a complete and profound resurgence. George Bush and
Ariel Sharon are leading the charge.
Trust Us:
George and his cronies are collecting all kinds of personal information
about us. They keep saying, this is only to fight terrorism.
We will protect your information and we will not spy on you.
Now we discover they have given away a computer full of Veteran's
personal information to some thieves. The VA let it happen. We
don't even know which thieves have the information. Trust us!
Sure! You are not trustworthy George. None of the people you
have put in power are trustworthy.
If they catch the person who stole the information, he should
be imprisoned for life. What about the person who made the information
available to him? I think he should be garroted. Mrs. Gaffer
suggests there could have been collusion. Perhaps the guy only
pretended the computer was stolen. Has anyone checked his bank
account? If I was his boss, I would ask the FBI to do that at
the least.
