June 5, 2006:
A Testimonial:
My wife and I were getting on fine. Then, one day I began to
suffer a severe shriveling problem. I was just no good anymore.
She was going to have the vet put me down so she could get on
with her life. I pleaded with her and promised to take Vigoro.
She gave me a chance. She bought a 50 pound bag of Vigoro and
I took it with my oatmeal and Ovaltine every morning. Sure enough,
I grew and became fruitful again. For all of you guys out there
who are having a problem, I vigorously suggest Vigoro instead
of sugar in your oatmeal and Ovaltine. Stay vigorous with Vigoro.
Obesity:
Once again our government is being silly. It's an almost daily
occurrence. This time they are making suggestions to restaurants
about reducing serving size and providing heathy choices in menus.
I think, if they could they would make this law. Thank Minerva
fascism has not progress to that point in America yet!
I can picture it in the future though.
I go into my favorite bar and order up a 22 ounce Bass Ale
and a large pepperoni pizza. They bring the beer, no rules on
beer yet, but the waiter tells me I cannot have a large pizza
all to myself. It's too much food. I can have only a personal
5" pizza and I must have low fat cheese and only 4 slices
of pepperoni. That's it. Get real! How long would that place
stay in business? People will get what they want regardless of
the food tzar. Can you picture the foodeasy coming into vogue?
It's like the old speakeasies where people went to drink during
prohibition. It was illegal, but so what?
Let's look at facts realistically. What will you do about
places like Duffs and Country Kitchen? It's not about serving
size in buffet places. Mr. lard butt can go in there, pay $6.98
and eat until he explodes. Did you ever look at the people who
go in places like that? Most of them need one chair for each
cheek. When they only use one chair, their cheeks hang down to
the floor. How are you going to regulate that? Will you take
away Country Kitchen's drawing card and put them out of business?
Get serious!
If you want a healthier population, start educating the kids
and tell parents to stop using food as a pacifier. After all
is said and done, it's still about personal responsibility. The
government cannot mandate personal responsibility. It must be
taught to people when they are very young. If we taught nutrition
the same way we impose religious superstition, when the kids
are young, dependent, and vulnerable, they would grow up with
healthy ideas about food.
Remember?
On 9-11 George Bush was in an elementary school in a kid's reading
class. When the attack came, they had to get him out of there
and back to Air Force One. Poor guy. Now he may never learn to
read.
Hoffa:
As I predicted, the FBI did not find his remains, but they should
be proud. They completely destroyed a beautiful farm in Michigan.
Who will pay for repairing it? You will! If I was the owner,
I would be filing suite in federal court against those keystone
cops.
Separate, but Equal:
The supreme court struck this concept down in 1954 in the Brown
v. Board of Education of Topeka. Actually the Court ruled that
separate public schools for black and white students were inherently
unequal. In plain language, separate is by definition unequal,
so state-supported segregation in public schools violated the
equal protection guarantee of the 14th Amendment.
Well, forget that! The Board of Education in Flint Michigan
is preparing to have separate academes for girls and boys. These
are voluntary programs and parent will control whether their
kid is separated or not. I have some questions. Do these kids
have rights or does the constitution not apply to them because
they are kids? How many times are we going to have to go through
this? Separate is by definition unequal.
Making It Up:
ABC News, Channel 12 might have run out of news again. They do
it frequently because they are trying to stretch 15 minutes of
regular daily news to fill 2 & 1/2 hours of programing every
evening. No problem, they can just make up some news. This time
it seems like they made up some nonsense that involves our governor's
decision making. Governor Granholm has ordered the American Flags
on state properties to be flown at half mast several times. She
did this to honor our fallen servicemen each time she discovered
one had been killed overseas. Chanel 12 decided there is a controversy
over this procedure. They quoted from rumors and critics. I think
it was actually from some hokey survey they did, scientific I'm
sure. The phrases they used were "Rumors say..." and
"Critics say..." The gist of it was, some person or
persons unnamed think lowering the flag should be for bigshots
only. I don't particularly like Granholm myself, but this is
beyond the pale. When she does something decent we should encourage
it, not condemn it.
Real News People:
We have a large number of real news people in this country, most
of whom work at the national level. I don't know of any real
news people at this local level. Once in a while one will show
up on his or her way up. They just don't stay long. The last
one I noticed was about two years ago. For the most part these
national news people are very serious about the news and very
brave in pursuing it. Unfortunately, our insane enemies in the
Muslim world have realized they can get our attention by targeting
these unarmed reporters. Taking them out has become a standard
procedure for these madmen. Under these circumstances it is becoming
very difficult for me to make a case for being fair with any
Arab. I suspect, that's what they want. They want us to go crazy,
kill Arabs at random, and give credence to their policy of the
indiscriminate slaughter of innocents.
Going Crazy:
It seems that some of our Marines did just that. After suffering
a roadside bomb explosion where one was killed, a group of them
went on a rampage. According to the reports, several unarmed
women and children were murdered. Also, according to the reports,
the military brass tried to cover it up. Indiscriminate murder
makes us too much like our savage enemies. It is sickening. What
is even more sickening is the attempt by people with authority
to cover for murderers.
