Preignition:

Most of us  have heard of an afterburner. On a jet engine it is a device which provided additional thrust by injecting extra fuel into the exhaust gases. Psychology has also defined afterburn as an emotional reaction or process. We are all familiar with that. It is what we do after an encounter that did not go well. It’s the old woulda, shoulda, coulda punishment we inflict on ourselves after the fact. It a severe case it can go on and eat at our soul for days.

Years ago a friend and I added another term to our personal psychology game. We called it preignition. That is the case where we have too much time to think about it before and event. In that case we pre-play and rehearse the event over and over again in our mind. Of course, that only causes us to lose confidence and makes us sure we will get it wrong when it really happens. We usually do. Preignition also has a technical definition. It is where the gas in a cylinder ignites too soon and causes spark-knock in the engine.

Another Book:

I think I will find it necessary to insert another book in my philosophy series. The two books I have completed are “Will-Yam in the Land of Giants” and “A Place to Stand.” I thought there were just three remaining books. They were to be “The evolution of Democracy,” “The Decline,” and “Recovery.” Now, I believe I will have to insert another book that I could call “Predators in America.” This would have been a section in “The Decline,” but based on my own personal experience, it has become much too large for just a section. It must be a separate book with three sections. The first part would be a discussion of what a predator is. The second section would be discussions of real cases of predatory behavior that I have been the victim of beginning with Earthlink. The third section would be a discussion of the good tradesmen and merchants I have encountered. There will also a discussion of the differenced between the two.

Atheism:

This is a religious philosophy of negation. It has no human value because it comes out of a smoldering rage. It can do no good for anyone. It can only do damage to the person who harbors it.

Heath Ledger:

He died from an overdose of drugs. He should not have died. All the drugs he had were legal drugs, but he lad a lethal combination. When I get a prescription from a different doctor, I always check with my PCP to make sure it’s all right. Even if I did not check, my druggist would and he would let me know. I’m wondering how this guy managed to get a lethal combination. I’m wondering why no one checked his history. The media tells us that more people die from Prescription drug overdoses that die from heroin and cocaine combined. Dumb!

Justice Denied:

In Flint, Michigan, a chiropractor fondled his female patients, many of whom complained to the authorities. One of them was a 17-year-old teenage girl. He copped a plea and he is only going to spend 200 days in jail. Well, not really. He will be allowed to leave jail to go to work. That is not jail at all. It is free lodging with meals provided at taxpayer expense. This is crap! He should get life for molesting a child. Where is Draco when we need him?

Credit Cards:

When the Fed cut the prime rate, interest rates were supposed to go down. That was the intent. It did not happen with credit cards. Instead, the rates went up. These b******s are bleeding their card holding victims to make up for their management bungling in the housing mortgage scandal. These card company managers are predators with no sense of human decency at all. Evil, pure evil!

Military Tribunals:

The government has put its butt in the crack real good this time. They have some prisoners at Gitmo who they are planning to try for murder. These people were allegedly tortured to gain confessions. Even with their kangaroo military tribunals, how will they get around that? Can they really refuse to admit it as evidence? Can they keep these trails secret in violation of the sixth amendment? I bet they will try. Maybe the Bush fascism will get a good airing. That would be good.

Gates:

He told the media that there would not be any more troop withdrawals from Iraq. Apparently, he plans to stay there until Bush is replaced by a human being. That is still almost two years away.

Kids:

Again the media tells us about kids who get into the foster system and are dumped from one foster family(?) to another. Some of these end up as criminals. Most end up dysfunctional. Why can’t we have a large home with caring adults where the kids can live and learn with support until they are adopted or until they graduated from high school and can handle adult responsibility? It wouldn’t matter how large the home is. It could be very large if it is properly managed. If I were wealthy, I would build such a home and I would monitor the managers regularly. Problem is, I will bet the government would not let me operate it. To do that, I would also have to be God Emperor. Then I could also make it possible for white families to adopt black kids and black families to adopt white kids. All they would have to be is good stable families.

Jail Overcrowding:

It’s a bunch of nonsense. This is another case where the do-gooders jerks give more caring attention to the criminals that to the victims of crime. People who commit crimes should not be pampered. Mrs. Gaffer has said they should get no more living space than an American sailor on a submarine. I agree with that and they should also not have better food than a GI in the field. Nor should they have privileges of any kind. They are in Jail for a reason. They are supposed to be punished, not pampered. Let’s cut out the nonsense about rehabilitation. We do not have the skills to rehabilitate criminals. We can only protect society from them by incarcerating them. There is no reason to be gentle with them. The do-gooders have had their day and they failed.

Here is a research puzzle for you:

Who or what is Persephone? When you find out, tell your mother or spouse. Don’t tell me. I already know.
