February 2, 2004:
Pro Choice:
January 22, 2004. Today was the anniversary of Roe V Wade. It
was a 7 - 2 decision with Blackmun writing for the majority.
The decision, since modified, allows abortions in some situations.
A whole gang of fools on both sides were in Washington making
mob noises. They are a mob, and most of them on the right to
life side have no legitimate interest in abortion. They are primitive
minded religious zealots who need to get a life. With them it's
about their own ego, nothing more. They are exhibitionists no
different than the fools who pretended to pray outside of Moore's
court in Alabama.
Without the fools, abortion becomes a minority issue and it
is really simple. American freedom is based on the idea that
people have a right to choose. That right is supposed to be sacred.
Women have a right to choose abortion in most circumstances.
What too many of the pro choice zealots want and have absolutely
no right to is government financed abortion. It is immoral to
use tax payers money to support activities involving personal
moral choices.
My own position is, I believe abortion for reasons of convenience
is immoral and stupid. It's a lazy dishonest copout. The only
reason I would personally approve of abortion would be in cases
of incest or to protect the life of the woman. Any other reason
is trivial, immoral, and sick. However, that is my personal morality.
Morality is a personal arena. I do not see where anyone has a
right to impose their personal moral or religious philosophy
on anyone else. The right wing zealots are wrong, in points of
law and points of morality.
Janklow:
He was convicted and is now sentenced to jail. It's really sick.
This guy murdered a man and he is getting 100 days in jail with
daily ten hour times out to roam free. This is a gross insult
to the American public. It is a monstrous miscarriage of justice
by some fool judge somewhere. It is evil on the face of it. Janklow
has no remorse for what he did. Why should he? There is no penalty.
He is stupid and evil, but the judge who sentenced him is beyond
that.
King George:
He has appointed another person to search for weapons of mass
destruction in Iraq. Kay resigned. He does not think those weapons
exist. Duelfer will replace him. I expect he will find the weapons.
I fully expect that our government will plant some evidence to
be found by this guy. It's cute, because he is supposedly a critic
of the assertions. When he finds them, it will be proof to convince
all of the rabble. The only question is, can this guy be so easily
duped? Who knows?
On the same front, George is still insisting that invading
Iraq was okay. But, hey, it someone else's fault anyway. The
intelligence community may have got it wrong. That is not George's
fault, is it? Just the same, George still has confidence in those
folks. I lost count. How many U turns did he make there?
It's That Time Again.
Time for the Michigan Education Assessment Program (MEAP) tests.
It's brutal. It's dishonest. It exposes kids to levels of stress
that most of them will never again encounter in their lives.
It is a ridiculously unreal situation that has nothing to do
with understanding or skill. There are two whole weeks of that
kind of abuse. One teacher, given a TV sound bite, is being very
practical. She is simply preparing her students to pass the test.
No one sees anything wrong with that. Passing tests, not learning,
is what it's all about. That's how the schools get their government
bribe money, don't you see?
January 24, 2004:
It turns out we have soldiers who are buying their own equipment
because the government will not supply it or supplies inferior
stuff. That is sick. Meanwhile, King George is still bragging
about and hyping his tax cut. If we don't have enough money to
supply our troops we should raise the taxes and print money.
This is unconscionable. It is downright evil. It is also what
I have come to expect from this administration.
January 25, 2004:
I liked what I heard from Kerry on Sixty Minutes, but I must
remember he had a very friendly interviewer in Bradley. They
could have sent their trashman, but they sent Bradley. I suspect
that means they like Kerry. I can hope he lives up to what he
said.
Offshore Cheating:
Haliburton and other American companies are doing business in
a so called foreign country to avoid American law and taxes.
It's unconscionable and should be stopped. What do you intend
to do about that, Kerry?
January 26, 2004:
Jim Cox, Michigan's Attorney General has a new plan to prevent
identity theft. He ought to check out the US Postoffice to find
out what they are not doing about identity theft. The US mail
poses the major personal information leak and they don't care.
Without them participating in the plan, it cannot work. It is
still every man for himself.
January 27, 2004:
I have not been saying much about our kids getting killed in
Iraq. It's happening almost every day and it's heartbreaking,
but I feel powerless.
Dean:
The media is still on him for what they call a screech speech.
Those scumbags! I guess they want a very proper British butler
for president who never has or demonstrates feeling. Not me.
That would be worse than a moron. I want an honest man who can
be enthusiastic about his mission. Screech speech indeed. What
I saw was spontaneous enthusiasm. If I get on Dean it will be
for trash talk, not for enthusiasm.
Consensus:
The democratic consensus seems to be, I want to beat Bush if
I can be president, otherwise I don't care.
MIchigan:
Meanwhile, Granholm of Michigan endorsed Kerry. Sure! Why not
get on his bandwagon. Shades of John Ingler. It may not help
Kerry. The media is a bit behind in this. They say she is a powerful
and popular Governor. Let's wait and see about that. I don't
think she is making a lot of friend in Michigan. We may as well
have reelected Ingler.
