March 14, 2005:

Activist:
I used the word activist while speaking with a friend. I told him I would probably have to become an activist. I could see the effect in his expression. He was off the deep end. He had visions of me setting forest fires, putting sugar in gas tanks, sitting in, and breaking all kinds of laws. I then realized something I should have known. Activist is another destroyed word. It is now a synonym for political radical. It used to mean becoming active in something. To my friend it meant becoming a criminal. All I really meant was I will most likely have to do more than just vote. I will have to seek office or participate somehow in the political process.

Pass:
Print this and put it in your wallet. It will come in handy someday.

Living and Dying:
Some people are afraid to live yet terrified of death so they try to make a joke of everything that happens. Keep it light and no one will notice that you are terrified to the point of being dysfunctional.

Dolphins:
The United States navy is still using their super sonar and they are still killing dolphins and probably whales with it. Of course, they continue to deny their sonar is causing it. The truth is, they just don't care. They are so short sighted they will not even consider the long term effect of their arrogance. There are no real officers in the naval command anymore. We have nothing but bureaucrats.

Treasury Secretary:
Snow was on the Stephanopoulos show. He was talking about King George's private accounts. To strengthen his argument, he misrepresented and maligned Albert Einstein, using an alleged quote out of context. What a crumb. Snow either does not know anything about money or the market or he is lying in his teeth. If George manages to push it through, private accounts will be a disaster. The very reason we have social security is because the rabble are incapable of managing their own finances. That is why FDR pushed it through. Old people were living on dog food and even starving before he did that. Now, king George wants to let the rabble gamble in the market with their savings. Dupa!

I Grow Weary:
He is not the first one, but the latest person to imply I am a crumb who does not give a damn about my children and grandchildren was George Will on the Stephanopoulos show. Speaking about social security again, he said, people over 55 are not involved in this. They should not care. They will figure that out eventually. That is not word for word but a paraphrase of what he said. How dare you, George! It may be that you do not give a damn about your kids or our kids. Perhaps you do not even have any kids, but I do. Even if I did not have children and grandchildren, I would care about the future of mankind and America's kids.

You people get so caught up in the two bit political rhetoric that you loose sight of the basic facts. I have said it before and I'll say it again. Social security should not be in trouble. It is in trouble because every administration since its inception has been stealing the profit. It is not just George Bush as Teddy would have us believe, it is every administration for years back, including his big brother Jack. That two trillion you all babble about is probably less than what has been stolen. Just give the stolen money back and put the fund in the hands of a competent fund manager. There are hundreds of people in the investment finance community who could manage this fund and keep it solvent. We don't need to fix social security. We need to get the crooks and liars out of Washington.

Hypocrisy:
A Local school has decided all of their students should were uniforms. That, they say, will reduce peer pressure. Then, from the other side of their mouths, they enthusiastically support elitism in the form of competitive sports. They deitize the big man on the campus. Bizarre, truly bizarre!

Suicide:
It seems Japan has a problem with teen suicides. They are doing it in gangs. They are having suicide ins. It's like sleep ins only more permanent. Mrs Gaffer says there is a direct relationship between these suicides and the very powerful achievement pressure this culture puts on its kids. It's about their educational system. Education seven days a week and ten hours a day. I agree. Why can't they see that? Is it because they don't want to see it? Their kids are dying to escape the pressure for success. In that culture, suicide is still the honorable way out. The terrifying part is, we have people in this country who want us to emulate that system of education. One such person is Robert J. Herbold, a member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Frightening!

Credit Card:
Millions of American's have unmanageable credit card debts. These are the same people who King George wants to have manage their own social security accounts.

Laughter:
Our news people tell us about a study that says laughter is good for the heart. This is from the University of Maryland Medical Center. Thank God we have George for president. We can laugh all day everyday.
