May 12, 2003:
Taking Over:
We saw a news item where a waitress in Frankenmuth, Michigan
saved a customers life. She said, "I just took over. I don't
know why."
The why is quite simple. The waitress is most probably a latent
dominant. A person can be a suppressed worker their whole life
and the world will never know their true nature unless they face
a crisis. Dominants, if they are present will always assume control
in a crisis. I find it ironic that a true natural leader is waiting
table in a small tourist town while buffoons run our government.
Sea Otters:
The Sea Otter is an endangered species. In Monterey Sea Otters
are dying at alarming rates. It seems they are being infected
because of household sewage that is flowing into the bay. No
one in power seems to be doing anything about that.
Ashokan Farewell:
I first heard this piece as part of the soundtrack for Time Warner's
ten hour documentary on the Civil War. I was so impressed that
I bought the soundtrack just for that piece. My take. If you
can listen to this particular version of Ashokan farewell with
no catch in your heart and nary a tear in your eye, you probably
have no soul.
Afghanistan:
May 4, 2003 Sixty Minutes is noticing what we already knew would
happen. Afghanistan is reverting to savagery. We have only a
handful of troops there. There is no potable water or electricity.
Bandits and warlords rule the countryside. El-Qaeda is back in
business. We created a power vacuum and did nothing to fill it.
The bandits that America armed are now openly supporting El-Qaeda.
They are attacking our troops. We learned nothing from World
War Two. We remember nothing about Japan and MacArthur.
If Bush fails the people of Iraq the same as he has failed
the people of Afghanistan, he will have to start another war
to keep his momentum. I would guess Syria or Iran. The drumbeat
is just a bit offstage, but getting louder.
