June 7, 2004:

Cheater, Cheater, SAT Test Eater:
Here is something we already knew, but the media has just discovered it. Teachers are helping their kids to cheat on the standard tests. Of course they are! We spoke of this months ago. Teachers in Michigan have freely admitted it. They prep their kids for the tests and often give them the right answers. They would be fools not to. It has never been about education. It's about getting high scores to get the blackmail money from the state and federal governments. That way, the schools stay open and everyone keeps their job. Never mind the kids. Civil service you know.

New Technology:
I haven't seen much lately. American has become somewhat unfriendly to new technology. The day of the can-do Yankee has ended. It has been replaced by the day of the hunker-down low-profile manager. New technology you see causes disruption, but without it, we would still be living in caves. Disruption is necessary to the evolution of mankind.

Deserters:
We have military deserters hiding out in Canada. We have always had the problem of draft dodgers going to Canada. They always get a friendly reception. Canadians pretend it is just because they have an open culture and accept everyone. Try telling that to a Frenchman. The truth is, it is just Canada's way of plucking at the eagles tail feathers.

This current situation is somewhat different. These people are not draft dodgers, they are deserters. They got into the military by volunteering. They got good pay and all the benefits of any other soldier. For that, they signed an agreement to serve their country. It was not a limited agreement. Then they discovered there is risk involved and they ran like the sniveling cowards they are. They deserted their comrades in time of need and left them exposed. The penalty for desertion in the face of the enemy is execution. There should never be any clemency for these freeloading cowards.

Come On Kerry:
War hero is a card. You have already played it. It's good for one trick. It's not a suite you can run. If that's all you have in your hand, perhaps you should pull an FDR and call for a new deal.

Shaman:
Of those I have read, I believe Nietzsche was the greatest philosopher because he saw through the shaman's bull. None of the others did. Some of them pretended to see through it, but they all made up new bull that was still based on what the shaman had told them. None of them was willing to stand alone. They all got back to some notion of some kind of a magical creature who would somehow help them. Where Nietzsche stands is a very lonely and sometimes frightening place. Let me tell you. The problem is, once you get there, there is no way back. You can never go home again. You can never be a child again. That was Nietzsche's great pain.

I know you are thinking it. I agree. Sometimes I get inklings from reading him. I think I may understand Nietzsche. Then I say, no! Only Nietzsche understood Nietzsche — and then not always. The problem is, he ain't much help to us mortals. I believe, man was created to become God, but he was afraid to be alone so he invented God. Thus the thrust of the life-force was diverted. Once you know in your marrow that God does not and never did exist, there is no way back, but there is a way to go. The way to go is what he called the superman. I call it God Awareness. It is way beyond where we are, but I think it is possible.

The FBI Again:
They arrested a guy named Mayfield. They said they had his fingerprints from the Madrid bombing. They did not. They knew he was not there, could not have been there. They terrorized him then they released him. They said they made a mistake. They did not make a mistake. They meant to terrorize him. His innocence was irrelevant to them.

The FBI can use fancy wordings to cover what they do, but it does not wash. They called Mayfield a material witness instead of a prisoner. What difference did that make to Mayfield? He was imprisoned without charge or evidence and held more than 24 hours, a great deal more. Does Mayfield have any recourse? Will he receive even cursory justice? Probably not, so long as the Supreme Court of Jesters is an arm of the Republican party.

America is Vulnerable:
Unless Americans stop voting their emotions and pocketbooks and start voting their conscience, we are doomed. King George will likely get another term and he might even be followed by another madman. That could be the end of America, "Not with a roar, but with a whimper."
