About Criticizing the Government:
I don't want anyone to misunderstand my criticism of the current administration. That is about what they are doing. It is not about what the Iraqis are doing. As far as the savages in Iraq who are attacking American troops, I would use extreme measures. I would really hammer them. I would give them a reminder of what they endured before we came. I would use a few of the old Hussein methods on them. They don't deserve our presence, but we are there at great cost. With those demonstrating crowds, I would use tear gas first, then real bullets. So long as they are interfering, our troops cannot do their jobs effectively. I would do whatever it takes to stop that.

Anyone who even looked like a threat would be ordered to drop their arms and lie down. If they did not, they would be shot. They are enemies until they prove they are not. Eventually, if we are to succeed there, we must disarm everyone except American troops. After that, I would make it clear that anyone with a weapon would be considered an attacker and would be treated accordingly. I do not see anything wrong with imposing martial law there.

Blair is Going Down:
Kelly was a top weapons analyst in England. He committed suicide because Blair's people persecuted him and ostracized him. He was made the goat In their political dodges. The very fact that they were willing to destroy a human being in their coverup is a real indication of their desperation. It wont wash. In going after Kelly, they cut Blair's legs off. Kelly is dead and that is the final straw. Despite all of his mush mouthing and piety about Kelly, Blair will fall. He is exposed and so is Bush. Our problem is we are too easy on liars. Bush will not fall. He may even win the next election.

Funny:
Just a little yuck for you. Ofttimes, when they don't intend to be, the news media people are quite funny. Last week, one of them was in the field reporting on a crime. The anchor person said, "Do the police have a motive?" — Think about it.

Costs:
We were watching channel 12 news. The president's men, and the media, are all wondering how we are ever going to pay for this war and pay for enough additional troops to support all the ambitions of our government. Mrs. Gaffer got spirited and shouted at the TV, "Raise the damn taxes!" I though that was a good idea. I still don't know why our taxes were cut. It hurt the government at a critical time and, for most people, the income difference will be insignificant.

I am concerned. We have less than half a million troops on active duty. One senator said we should have twelve divisions instead of ten. Bologna! If we really want to pursue these terrorists, defend ourselves, deal with Iraq, and Afghanistan, and prevent battle fatigue, we need two or three million soldiers. We need to be mobilized. When we were attack on September 11, a lot of people in America were ready to step up and serve. We were ready to sacrifice, ready to share the burden, ready to serve. Our president was not ready. He was so wound up in his own personal self interest and self inflation that he missed the opportunity.

He still does not realize how poorly he reacted. He could have mobilized this whole country and had us ready for a long term commitment to American security. Instead he strutted, preened, and posed for the public view. His own tawdry egocentric mentality kept him from seeing the obvious. He could have done exactly what FDR did after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He could have put America on a complete war footing and kept us there. He could have gone down as one of America's foremost leader heros. Instead he will ultimately come over as a bungler, worse than Nixon.

Was Hussein a bad guy? Sure, but he was not a clear and present danger to America. There are other more dangerous threats. We are not dealing with them. We are dissipating our energy in Iraq. Because we are not mobilized, we do not have a great deal of energy to dissipate.

Dead is Dead:
Hussein's boys have been brought to justice. We saw the photos of their corpses on TV. Even with the photos, some diehard Iraqis are not convinced. Some of them never will be, but some people belong to the flat earth society too. Dead is dead. They cannot be wished back to life. Now, if we get the old man and commit to the long haul some good could come of this yet. Let us hope for that no matter who gets the credit.

Role Models:
Let's get straight. A role model is not a person who mouths words about being a role model. The only true role model would be the philosopher who actually believes in truth, beauty, and justice. An athlete pretending to be philosophical about his role is a bad joke. Regardless of his mouthing Mike Jordan is not a role model. He is an opportunistic shoe peddler. He uses his image to sell overpriced shoes to kids. There is a difference between an image and a role model. We can hope all of these opportunists who invest most of their effort into grooming a public image will eventually trip upon reality as did Bryant. Real role models make no pretensions. They just go to work and do their thing day by day.

The Israel Wall:
Remember the Berlin wall. This seems to be exactly the same. It has the goal of treating humans like some kind of herd animals. Stalin and Khrushchev would have loved it. I think even Hitler would have admired it. First, identify them, then we can isolate and annihilate them.

The Silly FDA:
A spokesman who opposed the legislation to allow us to buy drugs in foreign countries spoke out. He said that would prevent the FDA from being a watchdog for Americans against dangerous drugs. Who is he kidding? When did the FDA ever do that? They have no high ground there. What they usually protect is large drug companies. Congress wants to mitigate their power to do that. I say, right on!
