August 30, 2004:
Mr: Kerry:
Please quit pandering to the rabble. Quit making promises that
will be impossible to keep. Tell them the truth. We are in deep
doo-doo. We are spread too thin. We cannot get out of Iraq until
the mess is cleaned up. We need more, not less, troops there.
The so called allies are not going to help us. It is not their
war, it's our war. We alone started it. We also need enough troops
in Afghanistan to do the job. We have to get not only Ben Laden,
but all of the crazies over there. We need to mobilize for that.
We will not get enough volunteers. We will need a draft.
Do an FDR. Tell them times are tough and they have to step
up to the bar. They have to tighten their belts. We are at war
and it's going to be a long haul. We are not going to make the
world safe for democracy through rhetoric and we are not going
to do it overnight. We will not be able to cut taxes, we will
have to raise taxes.
Out economy needs to come out of the toilet so we can build
the stuff needed for this war on terrorism. People will go to
work as soon as we mobilize for that. There will be jobs, but
that is coincidental. The real issue is saving democracy from
madmen. This is not a short term thing. The rabble must be told
and made to realize we really do have a dedicated enemy who is
trying to destroy us. It is not an inconvenience. It is a deadly
serious war.
Quit pandering and try being a leader for Gord's sake! Don't
make offers, make demands. Tell the rabble to quit whining and
get off the dime. Tell them to stop looking for what they can
grab and start looking for ways to serve. Rights are not guaranteed,
they grow out of responsibility. The rabble have a choice to
make. They can help to solve the problems or they can forfeit
and be the problem. They already know this. It is really up to
them, but you must tell them the truth, lest they deny it. If
you don't tell them, they will think you are a con man just like
George. Are you?
The News Reports:
I remember this same thing from the Korean war. We got reports
of body counts and it sure looked like we were winning. Looking
at the numbers one could conclude that the war was almost over.
Soon there would be no North Koreans of Chinese left. It was
bullcrap then and it's bullcrap now. When, oh when are we going
to see the field commander's reports for what they are. They
are the typical exaggerated claims of managers trying to look
good.
Michael Moore:
He is bad news. The Democrats should emphatically disavow him.
He is not helping the party or the democratic cause. He is hurting
them with thoughtful people. He is not helping anything except
his own pocketbook.
Only in Michigan?
A media report told us a fellow confessed when his house burned
down and he was rescued. He had set his house on fire because
he was tired of living. He was trying to kill himself in the
fire. He almost succeeded, but he was rescued by a dedicated
rescue team. We can probably agree this guy is very sick and
ought to be taken to a hospital for loony evaluation. Not in
Michigan. They threw him in the slammer on a charge of arson.
Defense:
Snappy salute! Reporting for duty? I defended this country as
a young man and I will defend it as an old man. Duh!
Knee Jerks:
There are millions of people in this country who pretend to be
independents who are just embarrassed to admit they are knee
jerk republicans or democrats. They will search the ballot to
find some obscure post like dog catcher or drain commissioner.
They will then vote the opposite party for that post so they
can claim they voted a split ticket. These people will also always
claim to be undecided in the polls.
Florida:
The situation there is one where the United States Emergency
Response Service (USERS) would necessarily be used. This is a
civil response service defined in the Gaffer's Philosophy essays
on a Universal Draft. Check them out.
Family Fun:
The media shows us a conspiracy between the Kintercare day care
centers, Family Fun magazine, and the toy makers to exploit children
for the purpose of evaluation and marketing toys. The kids think
they are playing. How could they know they are being used? Of
course the media presented this as a great thing. They gushed
over the concept. The parents of the kids thing it's great too.
Yippee!
Election Reform:
This is about voting machines. Congress is being criticized for
not funding this so called reform. It's all nonsense. What they
should be criticized for is not seeing the scam. They should
be criticized for not telling the states and cities to pay for
their own machines. There are millions of bucks supposed to pay
for modern electronic voting machines. Why doesn't someone take
a look at these machines? They are nothing more than a $100 scanned
coupled with a $300 computer. They should not cost any more than
$1000 each. That is well within the reach of all communities.
If the companies that make and market these things are getting
more that 1 grand each, it is a scam. That's all.
Ophra:
She was a juror. After the trial she invited her fellow jurors
to appear on her show. Mrs' Gaffer says that is wrong. I agree.
What in the hades is going on. Jurors should be under a gag order
for all time concerning the deliberations in the jury room. There
is no way a juror should ever be allowed to talk about a trial
at all. A violation should bring a conviction of contempt of
court with severe penalties.
Last Chance:
The rulers of Iraq (wink, wink nod, nod) gave Al Sadr another
last chance to lay down his arms and leave Najaf. He declined.
Not to worry. They will give him another last chance in a couple
of days. I get these final last chance opportunities in the mail
all the time. Citicards sends me at least one a week. Credible,
very credible!
